GO-AND-DIE GOV. OSHIOMOLE WASTES MILLIONS OF NAIRA ON SECOND MARRIAGE WHILE EDO CIVIL SERVANTS GO HUNGRY

Groans, pains, anxiety are some of the words that could best describe the atmosphere in Edo State at the moment. The real reason for this unfriendly situation is the way the number one citizen of the state, Comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomole is handling the living condition of his people, most especially the civil servants who constitute 90 per cent of the state’s population. Report reaching us has it that the people are not happy with the former labour leader who sees nothing bad in the nonchalant attitude he is wielding against them.
Penultimate weekend, Comrade Oshiomole took to the altar former Miss Lara Forte who is from Cape Verde, a tiny Island country in the West African coast. Although, no one is against the union of Comrade Adams and his new wife, due to the fact that he lost his first wife, Clara to the cold hands of death five years back, those in the know are of the belief that the action taken by the governor at this perilous period in the state is nothing but wicked, insensitive and irresponsible.
Why? You may ask. Reports getting to Global News alleged that governor Oshiomole has not paid the salary arrears of the Edo State civil servants for over six months! This is alarming in the sense that the governor, who knows how painful it is for a worker not to be paid for half of a year allegedly delved into the revenue of the state and lavished multi-millions of naira on his wedding at the expense of the state’s civil servants. It is further regrettable that the governor, knowing fully well that the state is battling with scarcity of resources and that 90 per cent of the state’s population are hungry, still finds it worthy to import a wife all the way from Cape Verde to be the first lady of the state. This move, however, has triggered public outrage as the people of the state are presently regretting ever re-electing the governor.
It could be recalled that Oshiomole’s wedding to Lara Forte was held in Auchi and attended by the crème-de-la-crème of the society. From the new president, Muhammadu Buhari, his vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, APC national leader, Bola Tinubu, state governors, state commissioners, business moguls led by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote and other eminent personalities. The wedding became the talk of the town due to the grandeur and splendor coupled with scintillating paparazzi.
However, the people of the state, most especially the civil servants, have come to realize that their ‘beloved’ governor has squandered millions of naira on his marital adventure. Nevertheless, the civil servants of the state are calling on the governor to pay their salaries and save them from the hardships and sufferings confronting them. Soon, the governor and his belle would be embarking on another expensive and flamboyant honeymoon to God knows where and another multi millions of naira would be sunk into that.
