My Comment On The Corp Member Twisted…… Temitope Ajayi

It has become imperative to dispel the misrepresentation and outright mischief that has assailed my comment on a Facebook post.
I suggested that flagrant disregard and open abuse of NYSC by-laws and established protocols should attract the full extent of NYSC disciplinary measures, particularly as regards the recent display of imprudence by a corps member.
It is trite to say the maximum punishment under the NYSC protocol is expulsion, a far cry from the capital punishment some mischievous people have maliciously linked my comment with.
Even in my intervention, nothing beyond the established norms and laws is suggested or remotely implied.
The NYSC scheme is a historic and treasured national programme that should not be sullied and ridiculed in any form by indiscipline. It is a symbol of our triumph over division and separatism. It is a consistent effort at forging a stronger, more inclusive and more virile union even in our diversity.
Most importantly, it is instructive that, as citizens, we should abide by our old cherished values of dignity, discipline, and respect for one another.
