It’s so easy to kill a flourishing career while developing one with a fantastic fanbase takes plenty of hard work, Talent, Gods grace,Creativity, a good management team amongst other exceptional virtues.
The Burna Boy saga is another wrong step in the wrong direction .
A simple tale of getting drunk on his own Skusshy.
No artists is bigger than the collective force of the fans that buy his tickets ,records etc ,the artists is nothing without a solid fan base.
The fans determine your huge acceptance, album sales your concert attendances, they determine your lifestyle,your standard of living,your basic worth hence they the need for utmost respect .
An artist that disrespects his fans publicly or otherwise is looking for serious backlash as so many flourishing careers have been cut short once the fans turn against the artist.
The fans collectively or individually dont have to personally be friends to unify as a collective force, all they need to realise is that what has happened to a particular fan can happen to them as such Burna’s last saga with a fan falling asleep during his concert is a tale out of the anals of total arrogance and complete disrespect to the fan in question.
As a fan you are basically human and nature will.always take its course no matter how strong and willing we are notably no fan will go to a concert for the sole purpose of sleeping,Yes the soul wants to remain awake with the
concert vibes but the body is saying the natural opposite .
It is the duty of the artists to turn the perceived negative vibe so to say into a positive by personally engaging the fan instead of demanding that he will shut down the show if the fam is not thrown out of the concert.
It is worthy to note that as major stakeholders when we were making sacrifices and setting the pace to develop today’s Naija music Brand arrogance and blatant disregard for respect was never a veritable tool
This Industry was painstakingly built and the stupendous wealth being enjoyed today should not be the catalyst for inhumane behavior as artists.
Burna Boy getting high on his own hype thinking that he can get away with anything is totally unacceptable as evident in the backlash from his fans .
In the entertainment Industry you can basically lose traction by taking the wrong turn or making the wrong decision.
Moving forward Burna needs to not only apologise to his fans in.general which I believe he has done but lay particular emphasis on identifying the said fan that he publicly embarrassed with the sole purpose of initiating a lasting resolution.
He needs to creatively develop a PR strategy that will resolve these challenges that he has personally created for himself before it escalates beyond control.
Above all he needs to keep his bloating ego in check realising that his fan base are human beings that are on an emotional music vibe roller caster and can turn against him at any point in time if this inhumane treatment and utter disrespect continues…OLUWA BURNA…Easy ooooo
