Medical Doctor Brutally Killed by Wife Just 5 Months into Marriage

Dr. Samson Haruna, a medical doctor turned army officer, was brutally killed by his wife, a nurse, in a fit of rage over suspicions of infidelity.

The incident occurred on September 22, 2025, at Wellington Bassey Barracks in Akwa Ibom State, barely five months into their marriage.

Dr. Samson Haruna, a lieutenant in the Nigerian Army, had a promising career ahead of him. After graduating as a medical doctor, he joined the military and got married to his wife in April 2025.

However, their happiness was short-lived. A heated argument over infidelity suspicions turned deadly when his wife doused him with petrol and set him on fire.

Despite being rushed to the military clinic and later transferred to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, Dr. Haruna succumbed to his injuries. His wife has been arrested and is currently in police custody awaiting trial .
