2 min read

Nigeria’s ambassador toGhana, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, has accused the leadership of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, inLagosof trying to annul the victory of his son Babajide in the chairmanship poll for Ikoyi-Obalende, LCDA.

He said his son won on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

“We have the results of the election. We have won every ward in the LCDA. They are trying to annul it,” He spoke at the office of Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, as they awaited the official declaration of the result.

According to him, the collated result shows that his son recorded 5408 votes against ACN’s 4695 votes. But he suspected foul play, as the returning officer for the LCDA was nowhere to be found.

“What they are trying to do is create confusion so that the election does not stand. But we shall do everything it takes to ensure that what they are trying to do does not stand,” he said.

Obanikoro said the attempt to annul the election in the state is a throwback to the June 12, 1993 annulment of the presidential election.

“People paid with their lives to get the election de-annulled,” he said.

“What is going on now is bad forNigeria, bad forLagos, bad for our politics.

However, some politicians alleged that Tinubu and his co-travellers would not want any body to rule especially people like Obanikoro just because they want to cover their shady deals in the are having squandered and sold all the properties ofLagosStatein the area.

Aside this and other act of rascality by the Tinubu led Action Congress, the fear that if PDP rule any local government in the state, they would not be able to remove the local government allocation at will and give at will and give the chairmen peanuts.

Recalled that Global News in one of our subsequent edition detailed how the former governor of Lagos State Bola Tinubu stole all the lands inLagosStatethrough a petition by a group known as Concerned Citizens of Lagos, this they know if they allow Obanikoro to rule the local government he would expose his illegality to the whole world.
