As days go by, the Nigerian presidential election is gathering momentum as the two major candidates of both the PDP incumbent president Goodluck Jonathan and the APC, General Muhammadu Buhari’s camps are getting so hard at each other’s jugular. However, information at our disposal attests that some top members of the PDP and those who are controlling the party’s machinery are sucking the president dry in billions of naira claiming that they are campaigning for him, whereas they are not doing much to help his cause.
Based on this, the president who could no longer rely on the information they were giving him decided to take the bull by the horns by personally seeing to his campaign himself, moving from one state to another to meet those who matter in the coming presidential election. And this was coupled with that it had come to light that his people were claiming that they were campaigning for PDP whereas they actually did nothing than collect money and pocket it for their own personal use. This had happened in the past elections and had accounted for why PDP had been trounced especially in Lagos State. Only in 2011, the party, PDP made reasonable impact when Goodluck Jonathan won convincingly during the year’s presidential election.
