You can call it dramatic, you can call it funny but that is exactly what happened between the immediate-past governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and presently the Emir of Kano, His Royal Majesty, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. These two men are believed to be sworn enemies.
Do not let us bore you with what transpired years back between Sanusi and his then boss, Jonathan in which the former almost landed in jail after accusing the Jonathan-led government of corruption and the government fired back as well by calling him a corrupt person who has integrity issues and some explanation to give the anti-graft body regarding some mismanagement when he was at the helm of affairs of the apex bank. The rest as they say today is history.

Unknown to many people, however, the fact that the cat-and-mouse relationship between the two of them is far from being over came to the fore recently during the president’s nationwide presidential campaign. As the story goes, the president with his entourage had stormed the ancient city of Kano as part of the ongoing campaign. As expected, part of the campaign schedule was to pay a courtesy visit to the palace of the emir and so he did.
