Controversy Trails Ooni and Wuraola’s Collapsed Marriage
Since the marriage of Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi and his beautiful wife, Olori Wuraola Zynab became a public knowledge; there have been accusations and counter-accusations from both parties.The breakup has created two factions in the palace. While one faction is attributing the breakup to the enmity among the sisters of Ooni and Wuraola, others fingered two prominent billionaires as the men who lured the monarch’s wife to extra-marital affair. The Ooni was said to have been infuriated with the infidelity scandal and called it quits with his wife.
A source at the palace told this magazine that since inception, the sisters of Ooni Ogunwusi never liked Wuraola, and didn’t support her marriage to their brother. “They are convinced that she is a gold digger, who is only interested in the wealth and status of the Ooni. Besides, they claim that she has a dirty past, which the Ooni should not be associated with,” our source squealed.
When Ooni Ogunwusi and Olori Wuraola tied the nuptial knots on 12 March, 2016, there were mixed feelings among those close to the royal couples. While some were happy that at last, the woman that will bore the Ooni a child has arrived, others who hitherto knew Olori Wuraola had doubts on the long lifespan of the marriage.
Doubts over the longevity of the wedding began to surface almost immediately. The relationship had been surrounded by controversies. Olori Wuraola who was allegedly married to a Lebanese, Elie Khouri, and she dumped him for the Ooni. Even after her marriage to the Ooni, she has been romantically linked with other men.
There are insinuations among those close to the palace that Ooni and Olori Wuraola didn’t court for a reasonable period of time before the former, who was desperate to have a new wife because of his status proposed to the latter. A source told this magazine that “Oonirisa proposed to her (Wuraola) barely a week after both of them met.”
Wuraola, who was already a society player, was said to have quickly perfected her separation with her Lebanese lover to quickly assume the envious seat of the Olori. But her union with Ooni Ogunwusi had been tormented with several accusations and counter-accusations. In fact, there has been more trouble in the marriage than peace.
While the camp of Wuraola are claiming that one of the reasons she fell on Ooni Ogunwusi’s bad side is that she constantly advise him against the skeletons he has in his cupboard. But Palace sources claimed that there are many infidelity questions Wuraola needs to answer.
A source close to the palace stated that childbearing was another issue that caused friction in the marriage. The Ooni kicked out his first wife, Adebisi Adebukola Bombata because they had no child. The couple was married for eight years (2008-2016) and his family believed that he needed to find someone who will bear him children which was how Wuraola came into the picture.
But her failure to conceive after almost two years has made the Ooni and his relatives grow out of patience.
