In order to stay in power past May 29, 2023, President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that he has no intention of violating the nation’s laws and constitution.
The President expressed his commitment to ensuring a free, fair, and transparent general election in 2023 through his Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, insisting that he has always been committed to credible elections at a special prayer session to commemorate the 60th birthday of the Speaker of the House of Representatives at Ansar-Ud-Deen central Mosque, Wuse 2, Abuja.
The message from Mr. President is to congratulate you on your 60th birthday, Gambari stated, describing the Speaker as a patriotic Nigerian who has used his position to serve the nation well.
He also wants to encourage you to keep doing good work for the nation. In contrast to the belief in some quarters that the National Assembly should “be adversarial to the Executive,” Gambari claimed that the House of Representatives under Gbajabiamila has ensured a solid working relationship with the Executive branch.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, an All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential contender for the 2023 election, also characterized the Speaker as a patriotic Nigerian who makes use of his position to further good government. “May God continue to grant you excellent health,” Tinubu wished. I hope He hears your prayers as well. Only God can set us on the correct course and help us stay there as we navigate life and the leadership challenge.
God provide you health so you can work for Nigeria. You have to travel across a complicated country. The stability, tranquility, and love we share for one another, as well as the patriotism that will make us proud of our nation, may Allah grant us in His boundless kindness, he prayed.
Nigeria is challenging to manage due to its nature, according to Dr. Musa Olaofe, the Chief Imam of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Mosque, in his speech on leadership, good government, and tolerance. He urged Nigerians to show tolerance toward one another in order to make genuine development, saying that excellent leadership will lead to good governance.
