Soldiers from the Nigerian army’s Guards Brigade have continued to assault woodlands in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Niger, Kogi, and Kaduna states in pursuit of terrorists, bandits, and kidnappers hiding there.

The action came after militants ambushed soldiers in Bwari Area Council last Sunday.

The operations have generated positive results, including the arrest of several terrorists, the destruction of their camps, and the recovery of armaments, weapons, ammo, and other supplies.

According to a security source, the soldiers have taken the fight to the terrorists and will not stop until they are defeated. According to the insider, who did not want to be identified in print, the terrorists, who are usually foreigners, operate on power bikes.

It was learned that the suspect arrested revealed information on their members, who are Okada riders, water vendors, wheelbarrow pushers, petty traders, mobile tailors, shoe Coblers, and other informants, in order to obtain information on troop movements, security presence, and other factors before carrying out attacks.

When approached about the efforts to clear out criminals from the woodlands, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, director army public relations, did not pick up the phone.
