The Nigeria Police Force has instructed Abiodun Alabi, the Lagos State Police Commissioner, to investigate the alleged shooting of two revelers by five police escorts attached to the famed rapper Damini Ogulu, often known as Burna Boy.

The shooting took place at Club Cubana in Victoria Island, Lagos, on June 8, 2022.

In a tweet Wednesday, Force Headquarters spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi stated the escorts had been identified, apprehended, and held for their wrongdoing.

Irebami Lawrence and another man merely named as Tolu were claimed to have been shot by the escorts.

The Force Headquarters has directed the CP to send the results of the investigation for appropriate action, according to the spokeswoman in the tweet.

The performer and five police escorts reached the bar at around 4 a.m. on that fateful day, unaware that the horrible tragedy would occur.

Four of the escorts were alleged to have waited at the clubhouse gate upon arriving, while the fifth, who was dressed in mufti, accompanied the artist to his VIP seat with three women.

While the clubbing was in full swing, GlobalNews learned that the musician saw another woman and made attempts toward her. Unfortunately, the musician was reportedly denied by her spouse, who asked him to leave.

CSP Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the arrest to Vanguard, stating that an investigation has been launched into the case.
