Twenty-seven year-old Miss Ihezue Ugochi Mitchel of Kebbi State has emerged winner of the 2017 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageant, beating 35 other beautiful contestants to the coveted crown.
What made her triumph more spectacular is the fact that it was the special 30th edition of the prestigious pageant organised by the Silverbird Group. It was held at the Eko Hotels & Suites, Lagos on Friday, 15 September.
As expected, it was a night of glitz and glamour with a blend of suave performances by Olamide, Asa and Harrysong. The theme for this year’s MBGN was ‘Say No To Domestic Violence’.
Ugochi, a model signed to Elizabeth Elohor Aisien’s Beth Model Management, is expected to represent Nigeria at the next Miss World beauty contest, while her runner-ups; Miss Plateau, Winfrey Okolo will represent Nigeria at the Miss Tourism Beauty Pageant; Miss Sokoto, Stephanie Agbasi represents Nigeria at the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant and Miss Oyo, Emmanuella Yaboh, also will represent the country in the Miss ECOWAS Pageant.
Miss Plateau, Oyo and Bayelsa emerged as first, second and third runners-up respectively. Miss Yobe won the amity award, while model of the year went to Miss Kebbi and best traditional costume went to Miss Sokoto.
Born on 16 August, 1990, Ugochi attended Army Day secondary school, Kebbi before proceeding to the Federal University, Birnin Kebbi.
She is set to embark on a campaign against domestic violence in the society.
