After paying the N15 million ransom demanded by his kidnappers, a family source told SaharaReporters that they could not believe he would be killed.
The victim, who is the proprietor of the Nelly Oil & Gas filling station on Onuselogu Road in Utuh, had already been kidnapped and freed a few months earlier.
Later, it was reported that Achukwu told his family members that his captors had falsely accused him of giving information to the military but had been freed.
Achukwu was beheaded one month after Okechukwu Okoye, an elected official who represents Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s State Assembly district, was abducted and later discovered to have been beheaded.
