Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, alias Agbogidi, notable Nollywood actresses and members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), were kidnapped in an Enugu neighborhood twenty-four hours ago, and their abductors have contacted their families.
The actors went missing when their families realized they did not come home from a film set in Ozalla Town, Enugu state, on Thursday.
Both actors are well-known for their roles in films shot in Enugu and Delta states.
The AGN national president, Emeka Rollas, told Global News Nigeria on Saturday that the kidnappers are demanding a monetary ransom in dollars.
Mr Rollas further stated that Guild members are working closely with the victims’ relatives and security authorities to achieve their safe release.
He said, “The kidnappers have made contact with the families and are demanding the sum of $100,000. We pray to God for his intervention and for Him to put confusion in their midst.
“We are also working closely with the different security operatives, but we are not sure what to expect from them because the same thing is happening everywhere in the country.”
