Why Rotimi Amaechi is Quiet
During the 2015 election campaigns, and after Buhari emerged winner, Amaechi was unarguably the most vocal member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), most times throwing jibes at the opposition and whoever dares to criticise Buhari.
During and after the election campaigns, he was a thorn in the flesh of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and his wife in particular. Amaechi was very vibrant, vocal and fearless.
But that has suddenly ceased to be the case, as Amaechi has literally gone into hiding. The controversial minister, who was usually in the entourage of the president, has since kept a rather low profile. He has now become more or less irrelevant.
A close source revealed to this magazine that Amaechi is now regretting his actions, the support for Buhari in particular as he has been getting what he didn’t bargain for.
“Like the case of Tinubu and Atiku, Amaechi has been technically shut out of government, and he is really feeling bitter and betrayed about that,” our source said.
